Chrome PDF Viewer check box issues with certain PDF's

Reported by alan.and...@canopytax.com, May 2 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2661.94 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Click any checkbox in f4180 (8).pdf. They do not check.

Also, click on the checkbox labeled Other (specify) in f843 (11).pdf. Also does not check.

What is the expected behavior?
They should check

What went wrong?
Some checkboxes do not check

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 50.0.2661.94 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.11.1
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

If they were originally checked, unchecking them and then rechecking them do not recheck.

I cannot detect a difference when I open f832 (11).pdf in Acrobat between the checkboxes that check and the one that doesn't. They all check correctly when opened in Acrobat.

Also forgot to mention that these pdf files were originally downloaded from the IRS website and then processed through iText to make a new pdf.
If this could be changed to component Internals>Plugins>PDF that would be great. This happens on windows as well.

Confirmed that this works on Safari and Acrobat but not on Chrome.

Still happening. This appears to be an AcroForm, not XFA.

Setting PDF bugs assigned to me back to untriaged so they can get re-assigned as needed.
Status: Available (was: Untriaged)
Still an issue.
