Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2716.0 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. https://jsfiddle.net/5bfbeuw6/5/ 2. https://jsfiddle.net/5bfbeuw6/6/ 3. https://jsfiddle.net/crl/5bfbeuw6/7/ What is the expected behavior? In those demos, I set the range inside the <a> tag, and insertText, but the text is added outside the tag What went wrong? It's not possible to add text on the ends of the tag, (slightly related to https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=608162) Ideally you'd even be able to place the cursor with the mouse either there: 'some text|<a href="">ok..' or 'some text<a href="">|ok..', depending if the mouseevent occurs in the <a> tag or not (it's done like that on firefox/gecko http://recordit.co/bh4u9clvGl) Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 52.0.2716.0 Channel: dev OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

This is Blink/WebKit specific behavior called "visual canonicalization". We, Blink editing team, really want to kill behavior but we can't now since execCommand's depend this behavior.

Mark as "Feature Request". We, editing team, also don't like this. ;-)
