Unable to navigate to "web.whatsapp.com", keep on redirecting to "www.whatsapp.com" on RDS

Issue description

Chrome Version       : 50.0.2704.89
URLs (if applicable) : web.whatsapp.com
Other browsers tested: Chrome Mobile
  

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Launch chrome and open a newtab
(2) Select menu --> enable RDS
(3) Go to url "web.whatsapp.com"

What is the expected result?
Should open "web.whatsapp.com" site

What happens instead?

Keep on redirecting to "www.whatsapp.com" instead of staying "web.whatsapp.com


Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

1) The issue doesn't exist on M49 builds
2) What a worst application..its getting force update though I have stopped it from play store. I

The issue exists in following applications on play store

This logic is almost certainly an issue with the site and not chrome.  In particular, I can get to web.whatsapp.com if I do RDS on a tab.  But then if I reload it always redirects to www.whatsapp.com.

aelias@ has done some work with RDS recently, but I'm doubtful this is something we can solve in chrome.

This issue doesn't exists in other browsers like firefox, opera etc., on android. Infact issue is not present on older versions of chrome, I used to connect to whatsapp on chrome without any problem until these recent updates.
