Going back and forward between pages sometimes just fails

Reported by vanantwe...@gmail.com, Apr 29 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2716.0 Safari/537.36

Example URL:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topicsearchin/chrome/category$3A(linux)%7Csort:relevance

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to the URL
2. Click via the mouse on topics to read
3. Go back via Alt+Left Arrow
4. Repeat 2+3 several times
(Note: It's hard to reproduce, though as soon as you trigger this behavior, you can consistently reproduce it until you close down the browser)

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
When clicking on a topic, it is expected that URL updates.

Does it occur on multiple sites: No

Is it a problem with a plugin? No

Did this work before? Yes Chrome 50 dev for sure, maybe even later, I've been able to investigate it myself on april 9th, though issue already occured before

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 52.0.2716.0 Channel: dev
OS Version: Ubuntu 14.04
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

I've attached a screencast of the issue + my chrome://flags (I know, it's a lot :( )

I've also attached the errors of in the DeveloperTools which occur on the 'going back'

Hi, tnx for checking into this.

I've tested again with 52.0.2723.2 (Official Build) dev (64-bit)
unfortunately, I still have the same result.

I've checked your video, please note that the issue occurs on visiting a new (or the same) topic, not on Alt+Right Arrow

I'll try with a clean profile soon.

It took me a while to be sure, though the issue appears to be fixed somehow in unstable. I suggest we change the state of this bug to something representing closed.
