Filter in Network requests is slow when a network request is selected

Reported by m...@mostlystatic.com, Apr 28 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_2) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2661.86 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open DevTools to record network requests
2. Got to a page that makes a fairly large number of network requests, e.g. http://www.bloomberg.com/
3. Click on the first network request
4. Enter "asdfsdfs" in the network request search field, so all requests are fitlered out

What is the expected behavior?
There is no noticeable delay.

What went wrong?
DevTools becomes unresponsive for a bit.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 50.0.2661.86 Channel: n/a
OS Version: OS X 10.11.2
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

I looked into this a while ago but thought it had been fixed.

Each request is removed from the UI individually. If the request that is being removed is currently selected the selection moves on to the next request (removeChild calls updateSelectionBeforeRemoval). That request is then rendered, and then it is also removed and the selection moves on.

As a result the details for each request below the selected one are rendered temporarily.

Are you referring to timeline or network tab? I am confused because the screenshot does not show a filter/search either.
Sorry, the screenshot shows what's happening inside the DevTools code. See this gif to see what happens in the Network panel when you search.

Yes, I have noticed this myself but did not have time to go into it and fix it. I added it to my list.

Seems this performance has been addressed in a previous bug, closing.
