Enterprise Friendly Install of Google Cloud Printer

Reported by cst...@randomlake.k12.wi.us, Apr 28 2016

Issue description

As IT for a 1:1 Windows school, the Google Cloud Printer program looks very promising, the issue I am running into is finding a way to get it installed on about 900 computers without needing me to enter admin credentials on each one.

I am failing to see any CLI flags I can leverage to make the install process silent so that I can deploy the app via Group Policy or System Center Configuration Manager. Any time I try to deploy the app using either of these, I see the process start but then it either stops right after without installing, sits there indefinitely or prompts for admin credentials (which I am trying to avoid).

Any help on getting this deployment accomplished is greatly appreciated.

Just wondering if something to help will be released by September or if I should look for a different solution to make students printing a bit more bearable?
Can you give a bit more detail on the problems you are trying to solve. It may be the case that there is a better way.
The problem I am trying to solve with this is the current process we use for when students want to print, they have to follow some convoluted process that the district secretary requires which quite frankly, I am starting to get annoyed hearing people complaining about, so I'm starting to look for a better solution.

I do have the Cloud Print Service installed on the print server and then share appropriate printers with the student's Google accounts and that works very good if printing from Chrome, but there are many students that will need to print from outside of Chrome, so I figured since this allows Cloud Print to appear as a regular printer to Windows, I figured this would solve the issue perfectly, which it does, just need to find a way to get it deployed.

So, if there is a better solution available, I would love to try it out.

As the District Technology Coordinator for the district where this happened, we would really like a way to possibly deploy the Google Cloud Printer driver for windows through SCCM or something to that effect. Is there a way we could get an msi with a possible silent switch or something?
