Rendering broken on Google News AMP pages under --top-document-isolation mode

Some of the Accelerated Mobile Pages being surfaced by Google News render improperly with --top-document-isolation enabled. (sceenshot attached)

I haven't been able to repro this on a Nexus 7, but Charlie and dcheng both saw it happen on their phones.

I'm not able to repro this anymore on 57.0.2970.0 (Android dev) on a Google Pixel with --top-document-isolation enabled.  I've tried using the link above and with other AMP articles on Google News.  I'll close this, but feel free to re-open if it's still occurring on other devices.
