Assigning to mfoltz@ for cast triage, though from #1 it sounds like this might be resolved.

perhaps work again and linked to chromecast beta extension update? I deleted previous extension because not work. I deleted icon, because not work. After chrome update, 'Caster' in menu work. This day I see in my extension 'Google Cast (Beta)'.(see screenshot) Sync problem? why chrome reinstall this extension without request me? (but disabled) If enable it and disable it, icon stay in extension icon. (see screenshot). GoogleCast not tested again this day!

It sounds like you are in the experiment for Media Router, which replaces the Cast extension with bundled Cast support. It should have functionality for Android TV devices that support Cast, same as the Web Store extension. If you are still using Media Router (which corresponds to the second screenshot you posted) and you are still unable to use your Android TV, then please file feedback by right clicking and selecting "Report an Issue", including the debug data requested. You can disable Media Router by going to chrome://flags and selecting "disable" for the Media Router setting. This will allow you to use the Cast extension from the Web store. Note, however, that eventually Media Router will become the only supported experience for Cast, so we'd like to fix all the issues we're aware of. Your feedback report would be valuable. Sorry for the trouble!

Hi, with Version 51.0.2704.63 beta-m (64-bit), it's work, just first start 'Caster...' not found AndroidTV; after cancel, and clic another time 'Caster...' it display AndroidTV name. But how can find more option? max resolution, bandwith... MediaRouter can't share one screen, just cast my 2 screen (full desktop), very slow and I will just share one screen. +bug: when I work with chrome in my 2nd screen and clic 'Caster...'/ desktop.. a popup open, but in my first screen. (first time I use CastScreen not see popup, because back taskmanager in my fisrt screen. :P ) +With mediarouter enabled (default); my previous GoogleCast extension is not visible! can't see it to delete. When I disable mediarouter, it automaticaly enable GoogleCast extension, and can now delete it! Why not continue to use extension? why integrate this option not used for all; it's require ChromeCast or AndroidTV! no ads blocker, no RSS; but googleCast! (Not very logical)

+skonig > with Version 51.0.2704.63 beta-m (64-bit), it's work, just first start 'Caster...' not found AndroidTV; after cancel, and clic another time 'Caster...' it display AndroidTV name. This sounds like a bug with discovery. We can try to repro, but if you also submit an issue as I described before and include this bug number in your description that would help us. > But how can find more option? max resolution, bandwith... The tab and desktop mirroring implementation now adapts these parameters automatically and they have been removed from the Media Router UI. > MediaRouter can't share one screen, just cast my 2 screen (full desktop), very slow and I will just share one screen. Media Router allows tab and desktop casting. It sounds like you have multiple desktops and want to mirror one; please star https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=585635 to get updates on this feature. > bug: when I work with chrome in my 2nd screen and clic 'Caster...'/ desktop.. a popup open, but in my first screen. (first time I use CastScreen not see popup, because back taskmanager in my fisrt screen. :P ) Interesting, can you please tell me more about your desktop setup and version of Windows? Maybe we can reproduce this. > +With mediarouter enabled (default); my previous GoogleCast extension is not visible! can't see it to delete. When I disable mediarouter, it automaticaly enable GoogleCast extension, and can now delete it! This is by design, as they offer overlapping functionality, and we felt it would be confusing for users to have two toolbar actions that perform very similar things. Adding our product manager so he sees your feedback.

We now allow casting individual desktops (although the UX needs to be refined), and with an update rolling out shortly the Cast icon can be added or removed from the toolbar with a context menu item (right-click on the icon), so there's no need to have the Cast extension installed. If you are still experiencing issues finding your Android TV, please submit feedback (right-click on icon) and reference Bug 607209 so we can cross reference this thread. Thanks!

Also, with an update rolling out shortly, we're removing extra popup notifications when desktop casting. Hopefully that will address the issue with the popups appearing on the wrong desktop. |
