Is this a regression? What is the resolution of external screen? Thanks.

This is not a regression. As the crash in Issue 495380 got fixed somehow, the remaining issue is with video performance.

What was the resolution of external screen and the video? I'm afraid VP9 in higher resolution may be too much for this platform...

Does this not reproduce with VP9 without HDCP in the same resolution? Was the resolution of the stream the same on internal and external screen?

--video resolution is same for internal and external screen and the resolution is 1280X720. --Resolution of the monitor is 1920X1080 ( we're using monroe chrome device as external monitor, http://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/developer-information-for-chrome-os-devices/lg-chromebase-22cv241-w) -- vp9 video from crosvideo.appspot.com is playing smoothly for same resolution on external monitor.
