'Press Tab to search Google' message is not seen in omnibox for google.com

Reported by vvishwak...@etouch.net, Apr 26 2016

Issue description

Version: 52.0.2717.0 (Official Build)82735e00e98486689f2d6bca470b0ad18d05a985-refs/heads/master@{#389638} (32/64-bit)
OS: Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS), Mac (10.10.5, 10.11.4), Windows (7,8,8.1,10)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1) Launch chrome, go to chrome://settings, from 'Search' section change the search engine to 'Bing'.
2) Open a New tab, in omnibox enter 'google.com' and observe the right side of omnibox.

'Press Tab to search Google' message is not seen in omnibox even if 'Google' search engine is added.

'Press Tab to search Google' message should be seen in omnibox.

This is a Non-Regression issue seen from M-30 series (Chrome version: 30.0.1549.1)

Can't repro. You didn't demonstrate what happens in this case when you type "google.com" with Google as the selected search engine. My suspicion is that you're actually in a state where Chrome believes the correct TLD for Google is not .com, and so this is Working As Intended.
