I find this problem in Vivaldi, an entirely different Blink browser as well. Can someone change the components to Blink please? Looks like I don't have the permission to do so.

Here are steps (ubuntu 17.04 is what I currently have) to install and set up the input methods described above: * Install the following packages: iBus-m17n ibus-qt4 m17n-db m17n-contrib ttf-indic-fonts * Once ibus is running (you can just restart to ensure that), open "text entry settings" and select sa-itrans and hi-optitransv2 input methods. The particular error I first reported is not reproducible. But, the one I report in https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=605564#c3 is reproducible (confirmed in #62.0.3202.45 as well). Please try that. In sa-itrans, the letters to type (case sensitive) are: dalanatas sphuritais sphuTaphUtkRtaiH svakaramaskaragarvitataskaraH This should smoothly yield: दलनतस् स्फुरितैस् स्फुटफूत्कृतैः स्वकरमस्करगर्विततस्करः

Continuing from https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=605564#c6 (motivated by https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=772691#c5 ): To ensure that you have the latest input method files, please dump all *.mim files from http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/m17n/m17n-db.git/tree/MIM to /usr/share/m17n/ , ensure that they are readable (sudo chmod a+r /usr/share/m17n/*.mim) and restart ibus.
