Behavior in Firefox 3.x/4.x: Works good!

Description: 
This is a problem that I/we face in my machine whenever I try to connect to my home ISP. I can not open any Google proprietary website (google.com, youtube.com, Google maps or any other Google owned websites) using Chrome browser. But I do not face the same issue when I connect to my college ISP. 
I have verified this behavior on my Mac OS X, Windows 10 and Linux distros. 
Same issue is seen in my roommates laptop, who uses a Windows machine.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Connect to BrightHouse ISP provided wifi router.  
(2) Open any Google proprietary website on Chrome browser. 
(3) Result: Either fails to load webpage or takes extended period of time to load the page. 

Personal speculation: This could be a business strategy between BrightHouse and other Google counter-part companies to divert users toward their products. I believe BrightHouse discourages users to use Google related services and thus uses custom setting to suppress usage of Google products.
