Alt word navigation no longer working in Omnibox on MacOS

Project Member Reported by le...@chromium.org, Apr 19 2016

Issue description

Chrome Version : 49.0.2623.87 (dev)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Put some words in the omnibox
2. Hold alt and use left/right arrows or delete

What is the expected result?
Navigation by word boundaries.

What happens instead of that?
Tears well in my eyes and the cursor fails to move at all.

This is a regression.

thanks for the report.

Not able to reproduce the issue on Mac OS X 10.11.4 (Retina & Non-Ret) using Chrome stable #50.0.2661.75,Beta 50.0.2661.75, Dev 51.0.2704.19 and Canary #52.0.2712.0, attached screencast for reference.

Could you pleas check with the latest version of chrome and let us know if the issue still persists.

Chrome dev shouldn't be 49 ... it should be 51. I couldn't repro this problem on Chrome Canary either. Can you check whether this problem occurs on Canary?

D'oh. I failed :(

I was informed about the super awesome "unicode" keyboard, and it alters alt+whatever handling, or at least breaks it in the omnibox. Switching to the standard keyboard fixes this.

The interesting thing is alt+arrow works in Blink, Sublime, etc. with this funky keyboard, which is why I blamed the omnibox.

Anyways, worrying about this is so low priority as to not matter. Sorry for the noise.
