Hangs with no crash - recvmsg Err#35

Reported by ch...@perimeterx.com, Apr 15 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2661.75 Safari/537.36

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Mac OS X 10.11.4
2. Use Chrome to surf the Internet
3. Wait for problem to occur.

I am not sure how to recreate this on a regular basis.

What is the expected behavior?
Chrome will not hang.

What went wrong?
Chrome will stop responding after a random period of time, between 30-90 seconds after opening, and many times will recover after 1 - 10 minutes. During this time I get the spinning beach ball and cannot use the browser.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 50.0.2661.75 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.11.4
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

I have limited debug experience. I attached dtrace to it and I see this message over and over.

recvmsg(0x69, 0x700005B49460, 0x80) = -1 Err#35

It appears that something prevents it from receiving on sockets.

Any advice on how I can further debug this would be helpful.

Hi. Thanks for the report. I would help if you could provide network details as described here: https://dev.chromium.org/for-testers/providing-network-details
I will close this report. I believe, after some extra troubleshooting, my problem was not only related to Google Chrome. I had the same issue with Skype and other software that required network connectivity. In the end I wiped the computer with a fresh install and the problem no longer manifests.
