Graphical artifacts on the Downloads UI bar on Linux

OS: Mac 10.11.3 El Capitan

Very frequently I see the weird UI inconsistencies to the download UI bar (see screenshot attached) on my personal mac.
Not sure this is Mac only though, today I have seen the same kind of artifact happening on torne@'s Linux workstation.

Not sure how to repro, seems to happen at random.

+estade for Linux.

On Linux, is this happening with the new Material Design UI? Is there a screenshot for the repro on Linux? I'm guessing the two issues are different.

This is  issue 592768  and  issue 586756  on the Mac, so this bug is a duplicate for the Mac. If it's happening on Linux it's not related to the Mac (the problematic code on the Mac is Mac-only).

We need a screenshot for Linux.
