(1) Enable "Tab audio muting UI control" via chrome://flags/#enable-tab-audio-muting and then restart chrome (2) open a new tab and view a youtube video (3) pin the tab (4) switch to another tab (5) click the mute UI control on the pinned tab What is the expected result? audio from that tab is muted and the muted speaker icon is shown What happens instead? tab is selected and brought to the foreground Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. when clicking the mute button on a non-pinned tab, the audio is muted and the tab is not brought to the foreground. this is the proper behavior.

This is working as intended; the feedback from UI leads was that otherwise it became too hard to select narrow tabs that were playing audio, so once a tab gets narrow enough, you can only click to mute if it's the active tab. This is clearly suboptimal, but we didn't have a guaranteed-better solution, although I like Firefox' UI for this. |
