[Regression] Fonts don't render correctly in Chase's statement PDFs in Chrome 50 |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionVersion: 50.0.2661.49 (Official Build) beta (64-bit) OS: Mac OS X 10.11.3 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Visit www.chase.com (assumes you have an account there) (2) View a credit card statement online What is the expected output? Expect to be able to read it with Chrome's built-in PDF viewer. What do you see instead? Instead, most of the text doesn't render correctly. See the attached screenshot (which doesn't contain any personal information). This has been happening for a while -- at least a few weeks. Apologies for not having reported it sooner. Please email me if you need a sample PDF which is broken.

I've seen this with Vanguard trade confirmations as well. shrike: The entire upper part of the PDF is missing text (it's rendered as those faint dots).

I saw the upper portion but didn't want to lead the witness, as it were. Are we sure this is not a security precaution? That's why I'm wondering what Preview shows.

Preview renders the file fine. In the screenshot, the rendering is broken in 50.0.2661.66 (Official Build) beta (64-bit). The file renders fine for me on 51.0.2700.0 (Official Build) dev (64-bit).

kbr@ - please e-mail me a PDF which demonstrates the problem (or rsesek@, but I assume you won't want to send your vanguard one).

shrike@: thanks for looking into this. I've shared a statement on Google Drive with you personally. Please tell me whether you can reproduce the problem with it. It renders fine in Preview.

The PDF problem is not present in the current Canary. It looks like the problem was fixed between 51.0.2671.0 and 51.0.2672.0, in a roll of PDFium. |
