Issue descriptionMR: 5116.404.0.0 Chrome: 51.0.2693.2 What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Sign into Chrome with a profile that hasn't used MR before. 2. re-start Chrome with MR enabled 3. Open the MR dialog. Expect to see the first run flow that includes the cloud-based services section the first time the dialog is opened. Instead it takes opening and closing the dialog a couple times.

Can repro this ~50% of the time (20 runs) on today's Canary (51.0.2699.0). Behavior seen: - Sometimes the checkbox appears on initial dialog open. - Sometimes the checkbox appears after several tries. - Sometimes the checkbox appears on initial dialog open, then disappears the next time the dialog is opened. Restarting the browser (#2) is important in the repro steps.

After more investigation, this happens when Chrome Sync hasn't started up, which should happen in the first few seconds of browser startup. This only repros in the case where all of the following is true: - The user explicitly uses chrome://restart to restart the browser - The user immediately opens MR in the first <4s (approx) after the browser restarts - The user has not acknowledged the first run flow Discussed offline with skonig; marking as wontfix. |
