User report: > I had a local folder mapped to the workspace, but it was not linking it to the local site I was viewing/editing. When I removed the folder, I could then see the rest of the sources.

I failed to reproduce this, and it's not clear from the code where is the issue. A step-by-step repro with sample folders/files would help a lot!

Happening to me also. Seems to happen only on second refreshes for me. So if I load up the debugger than load up my page sometimes I see my files. Hit refresh and they're all gone. Wish I had more for you to go on but basically it's hit or miss if I see my files

@lioramar: can you provide exact repro steps/screencast so that I would be able to repro this?
,
Apr 14 2016
I'm encountering the same behavior, sometimes files show up, other times (most of the time) they do not. I have a reliable repro - it just involves hitting this one site I'm currently developing. There's no errors in the console, only error information is using Ctrl-Shift-I steps as described above - same call stack. Unfortunately, I can't share a screencast due to IP protection around the website itself but all it would show is me hitting F5 :) Is there any additional information I can provide?

Hi Barry, If you would be able to build up a reduced test case which exposes the issue - that would be great. I believe this should be something related to some specific filenames, or maybe workspace folder setup.

Hello - I'll try to isolate and work out a small repro. The site is built on Salesforce.com so there is a lot of things that will get in the way. The problem appears to occur on a only a few pages though so hopefully that will provide me a means to narrow down. Any other advice on isolation is appreciated. Keep you posted!

Hello - I spent some time isolating this and was able to reproduce it with just the standard salesforce pages. You should be able to do the same I would hope. If you don't have access to a salesforce organization, you can sign-up for a developer edition org (it's free) at https://developer.salesforce.com/signup. Once you have signed up, login to the org and click on the "Home" tab in the upper left corner. From there, fire up dev console, click on sources and click refresh until you encounter the issue. It shouldn't take long, normally occurs for me on the first full refresh of the page. If you aren't able to repro, let me know and I'll continue to try isolating. There won't be much I can do unfortunately given all the code running on the standard pages is out of my control. Couple of points of information: 1) I wasn't encountering this issue until about 3-4 days ago after a Chrome update. 2) I just updated Chrome again tonight to Version 50.0.2661.75 m and am still able to repro. 3) Prior to the update tonight, I was running Version 49.0.2623.112 4) I'm running on Windows 8.1 with all the latest patches/updates Thank you!

More info... I just bounced around to several sites and am reproing the problem consistantly - espn.com, msn.com, etc. I hit the following Urls: http://espn.go.com/ http://www.msn.com/ I was hoping the problem might be something on the SFDC site but alas, I'm thinking it's not. If you are not able to reproduce on Windows 8.1 with the same version of Chrome, I'm not sure where to turn next - possibly could arrange for a screen share/live debug. More details: Lenovo w540 Docked in Lenovo docking station 2 external (1 VGA, 1 DVI) Dell 2001FP monitors Any other info that might help you, please just let me know.

More Info.. I was able to reproduce on all the sites listed above on 3 different machines. All machines are running Windows 8.1 - one machine has 49.0.2623.11, one machine has 49.0.2623.87 and one machine has 50.0.2661.75. 2 machines are VM's running on the 3rd machine which is the host. If I think of or find anything else, I'll let you know. Look forward to your thoughts. Thank you!

Ok, sorry for all the posts... I tried resetting my dev tools settings to default but was still able to reproduce the problem. From there, I started peeling away layers and believe I might have isolated it down to the Evernote Web Clipper extension - I'm running version 6.8. - I have been unable as of yet to reproduce the problem in incognito mode - I have been unable as of yet to reproduce the problem in standard mode with all extensions disabled - I have been unable as of yet to reproduce the problem with all extensions enabled EXCEPT Evernote Web Clipper - I am able to reliably reproduce with all extensions disabled EXCEPT for Evernote Web Clipper Based on some unscientific testing thus far, it appears that Evernote Web Clipper is what triggers and/or is causing the issue.

Hi Barry, I installed the Evernote Web Clipper extension, borwsed the espn.go.com and www.msn.com websites - still, not reproes for me. A screencast might help significantly - it might be a small thing that actually causes this kind of behavior.

Hello - I've captured a screencast available at https://youtu.be/79pD-b10Nhs. One thing I did note this time, is that the problem appears to trigger more often when you interrupt the page load by stopping/refreshing rather than letting the page fully load and then refresh. I do not remember from the other day unfortunately if I was doing the same thing (interrupting the load) but I do recall from several days ago that even after a full load and then a refresh I would encounter the issue. In short, appears that interrupting makes it occur more often at least on msn.com Let me now if there is anything else that I can provide/help with. Thank you!

I can confirm this issue as well, with some degree of additional isolation. The issue only occurs when both of the following extensions are installed and enabled: - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/awesome-screenshot-screen/nlipoenfbbikpbjkfpfillcgkoblgpmj - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/window-resizer/kkelicaakdanhinjdeammmilcgefonfh If one or both are disabled, DevTools works normally and no exception is thrown. The problem is, it still seems to depend on the site you are viewing (mine breaks on a localhost-only dev site). If I had to guess, there may be a race condition where one of the offending extensions sets whatever variable that has the '_deferredScrollIntoView' property to null before the other extension(s) try to reference it. Chrome Version: 50.0.2661.102 (64-bit) OS: OS X 10.10.5 -------------------- Error message in console: inspector.js:1515 TypeError: Cannot read property '_deferredScrollIntoView' of null TypeError: Cannot read property '_deferredScrollIntoView' of null at Object.TreeElement.reveal (inspector.js:1849) at Object.WebInspector.NavigatorUISourceCodeTreeNode.reveal (sources_module.js:869) at Object.WebInspector.NavigatorView.revealUISourceCode (sources_module.js:737) at Object.WebInspector.SourcesNavigatorView.uiSourceCodeAdded (sources_module.js:1003) at Object.WebInspector.NavigatorView._addUISourceCode (sources_module.js:701) at Object.WebInspector.NavigatorView._uiSourceCodeAdded (sources_module.js:703) at Object.WebInspector.Object.dispatchEventToListeners (inspector.js:791) at Object.WebInspector.ProjectStore.addUISourceCode (inspector.js:7408) at Object.WebInspector.ContentProviderBasedProject.addUISourceCodeWithProvider (inspector.js:8029) at Object.WebInspector.NetworkProject._addUISourceCodeWithProvider (inspector.js:8298)

Hello - With the additional information provided, has any progress on this issue been made? Is there anything else that we might be able to provide to assist? Thank you!

Was unable to reproduce this on Chrome 54 Canary, with all mentioned extensions installed, browsing both msn and espn. Is this still relevant?
,
Aug 9 2016
I'm still seeing this issue. Currently running the following: 1) Windows 10 (previously 8.1) 2) Chrome Version 52.0.2743.116 (previously 50) 3) Evernote Web Clipper 6.9 The problem does appear to occur less frequently but it is still occurring. I've been unable to repro when Evernote is not running but it's an unscientific test and intermittant repro to begin with so difficult to say for certain that Evernote must be involved.

Which website do you experience this on?

I was able to repro with the config above on msn.com and salesforce.com but those were the only two that I tried thus far.

Hi, my solution was now to deactivate all Plug in of the Chrome-Browser and restart chrome. After that the inspector works. Hope it might help others, Best, M |
