Supervised users: "Allow some URLs" |
||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version : 50.0.2661.57 beta (64-bit) URLs (if applicable) : youtube.com, https://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=TM9CpTsIfMk FR: When managing a supervised user account, users want to block a whole website except for specific sub-domains. For example: allow specific YouTube videos but not all of YouTube. Currently, this isn't possible with Supervised Users. What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Go to the Supervised Users dashboard & select your user. (2) In the "Permissions" section, click Manage. (3) Choose "Allow" > "All of the web." (4) Under "Blocked," enter youtube.com. (5) Choose "Allow some subdomains." (6) Enter a specific YouTube video URL. Ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=TM9CpTsIfMk What is the expected result? The supervised user could see this specific YouTube video, but not all of YouTube. What happens instead? The owner account can't allow a specific video. It gives an error message: "Invalid URL" or "Please enter a valid site." Other iterations of this request also don't work. For example: Allow > Only approved sites > Approved site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=TM9CpTsIfMk

Hi, thanks for filing this feature request. Correct, Supervised Users currently only supports whitelisting specific subdomains, if your supervised user is in blacklist mode and you blacklist a specific domain. Please ping me at my corp ldap@ in case you'd like to discuss this. Would love to learn about your use case and context of use. Thanks Patrick
