Steps to reproduce the problem:
I wish I could put in the options my extension a language selection feature.

I as a user often want to use certain web sites in different languages than the language of the browser UI. I wish I could do the same for extensions.

What is the expected behavior?
I would like to have a method in chrome.i18n to set the locale I want to use, and this would be valid for the calling extension.

What went wrong?
Changing the locale that is used by chrome.i18n is not possible because it can only use the language that is used for the browser UI.
