Plesk login problem using Chrome

Reported by ajaferre...@gmail.com, Apr 1 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/49.0.2623.110 Safari/537.36

Example URL:
Any PLESK administration URL (https://www.something.ext:8443)

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open the PLESK administration URL (https://something.ext:8443)
2. Write the correct login credentials
3. Press Log In button

What is the expected behavior?
It should redirect to the PLESK Control Panel

What went wrong?
It simply reloads the PLESK login page, adding this to the url: "/login_up.php3?success_redirect_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.something.ext%3A8443%2Fsmb%2F"

Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes

Is it a problem with a plugin? No

Did this work before? Yes Older versions of PLESK worked fine in Chrome

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 49.0.2623.110 Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

I don's have any issue doing this with Firefox, Internet Explorer or Edge.

Just a note: after the failed login attempt, and after removing all the related cookies, I can successfully login to the PLESK Control Panel, but I get this notice: "Warning: Another user with the same username (xxxxxxxx) is already logged in to Plesk."

I've managed to understand that, while this other "ghost" session remains active, I can successfully login to PLESK Control Panel using Chrome without any issues. After 1 hour, the ghost session is automatically finished and the problem is back.

It seems necessary to have an already active session in PLESK Control Panel, for Chrome to redirect me to the correct URL! (which is https://www.something.ext:8443/smb, and not the https://www.something.ext:8443/login_up.php3...)

Is this related with cookies? Sorry I don't have clear idea where this belongs to, can someone in cookies help me to find the appropriate component/owner?
I've had this issue since as long as I can remember, I've just gotten to the point where if I want to use Plesk I use a different browser (Firefox). Same goes for my colleague.

While searching for the solution I came across this old issue: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=135228

His explanation as to what happens is also spot on. I suspect it is something to do cookies and/or the handling of redirects.
