Page text renders correctly, then immediately (partially) unrenders

Reported by rpw3cr@gmail.com, Mar 31 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 7978.29.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2661.50 Safari/537.36
Platform: Platform 7978.29.0 (Official Build) beta-channel parrot

Example URL:
http://www.kqed.org/tv/schedules/daily/

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Browse to http://www.kqed.org/tv/schedules/daily/
or any of the related "TV Schedule" pages, such as
   http://www.kqed.org/tv/schedules/daily/kqedplus.jsp
   or http://www.kqed.org/tv/schedules/daily/world.jsp
[note: KQED *Radio* schedule pages do *not* fail, e.g.:
    http://www.kqed.org/radio/schedules/daily/ ]
2.
3.

What is the expected behavior?
A banner should render, with the KQED logo, various buttons
for site subsections, then a secondary header for the
"TV Daily Schedule: KQED 9", then a second row of buttons
for subchannels (KQED9, KQED Plus, etc.), then a horizontal
black bar with the date in white, then below that the
rest of the page content: the individual program times,
titles, and descriptions [call this latter aggregate
component the "listings"].

What went wrong?
Everything renders as normal at first, then the "listings"
section suddenly vanishes/disappears/blanks, leaving
only the alternating white & light grey backgrounds
that were behind the individual items in the "listings"
section. [Note: the site's template footer is also still
visible at the bottom of the page.]

The text of the "listings" can be made to reappear again,
with any of several workarounds discovered so far[1],
and remains if one navigates to another open tab and
back again. However, refreshing the page or moving
Forward or Back causes the "listings" text to vanish
again.

Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A

Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A

Did this work before? Yes Until the Version 50.0.2661.50 beta (64-bit) update.

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 50.0.2661.50 Channel: beta
OS Version: 7978.29.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

[1] Some of the workaround mentioned above:
    a. Open the debugger, go to the CSS section,
element "body#home", and toggle "color: #666"
off then on again. The text will appear.
    b. Select (mousedown/drag) a *large* amount of text,
more than a screen's worth. Deselect. Text of
*whole* page will be visible [not just the portion
       selected].
    c. Ctrl+"+" then Ctrl+"-" (or vice-versa). The text
of the whole page [not just the portion in the
visible area of the screen] will become visible.
[This is clearly the easiest workaround found
       so far! ;-} ;-} ]

This issue is annoying. It happens in many pages. Sometimes text doesn't appear at all. (Windows7, Chrome Version 51.0.2700.0 dev-m) Attaching 2 photos with missing text and 1 with correct

Appears to be fixed in Version 50.0.2661.79 beta (64-bit) update.

still having it in windows 7 (basic theme), Chrome 51.0.2704.7 dev-m.
BUT
now the text reveals partialy in the area the cursor moves over. If you click and move the cursor the text reveals in a greater area.

Comment 6 by bsdman...@gmail.com, Apr 27 2016

page and text appears OK in Version 52.0.2716.0 dev-m. Seems to be fixed.
