I am curious is there a way to do phase alignment firstly before mixing?

I suggest this is closed as Won't Fix. I can't think of a situation when this is a practical problem. As indicated by the link in the bug description, for sound engineers it is pretty much "Mixing 101" to mono-check their work before distribution, as all manner of things can happen at the playback side. Stereo as well as surround material utilise phase differences and inter-channel delays to produce spacious sounding audio. If we were to apply processing to align phases, those effects would to some extent be cancelled (and we'd introduce other artefacts too). |
