Same IDs are shown with saving password

Reported by yeonju....@gmail.com, Mar 29 2016

Issue description

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to login page of naver.com or newegg.com
2. Login - Save password - Logout
3. Login again with the previous ID but including space character at the end
4. Save password - Logout
5. Check suggestion ID list on login page

What is the expected behavior?
Shouldn't show the same IDs in suggestion list

What went wrong?
One is a normal ID and the other is ID including space character, but these are the same to users.

Did this work before? No

Thanks for the report.

I'm not completely sure Chrome should intervene here, though. There is no guarantee that usernames cannot contain spaces, so there might be a site where "user" and "user " are two different accounts. Chrome would not be able to save credentials for the second one if the suggestion here would be implemented.

The current state of having two credentials which look the same is confusing, but not fatal. I wonder if there are other ways out of this confusion than modifying the credentials. What comes to mind is visualising the non-printable characters, but not sure if that's worth it (and will likely cause some churn getting that through UI review).

At the moment my suggestion is to close this as WontFix, but let me know if you have better ideas.
@vabr,
Thanks for the comment.
I agree with your concern and closing this as WontFix.
If I have a better idea, I will suggest it again. Thanks!
