Configuration of Chrome settings for Macs

Reported by jim.mcaf...@gmail.com, Mar 28 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/49.0.2623.108 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Download Chrome for Macs
2. Install Chrome
3. How do I configure settings?

What is the expected behavior?
For Chrome in Windows, I know you can configure settings in the registry or use GPOs, but I am totally new to Chrome and Macs, and my company wants to make the Chrome browser available for the Macs used in our enterprise. I know there is a .plist file. Is this what you use?

What went wrong?
Nothing has actually gone wrong. Just trying to get a handle on the best way to configure settings or policies for Macs. Luckily, we only have a few hundred Macs being used in our company.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 49.0.2623.108 Channel: n/a
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

See these two pages:

You can extract the list of policy options from the Chrome.app bundle and then import it into the policy manager to control specific settings.

In case you need to Google more information, the keywords are [chrome mac managed preferences].
