LinkedIN edit profile action buttons don't work on touchscreen ChromeOS machines |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2661.37 Safari/537.36 Platform: samus Steps to reproduce the problem: (1) Log into LinkedIN (2) select "Edit Profile" (3) For an item in your profile, click the "Add Document" button in the frame below the text describing that profile entry. What is the expected behavior? If working properly a text entry field will appear to paste a url into. What went wrong? If not working, that won't appear. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 50.0.2661.32 Channel: beta OS Version: 50.0.2661.32 Flash Version: This was filed as https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=597652 But it was suggested I re-file to track LinkedIN fixing the issue.

As I explained in the email thread, it's touch related issue. This could be just a bug on their side, or could be blink issue. Rick, can you find the right owner to investigate?

It seems that this issue might have existed for a long time: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/R6tY9BggwtY At least I myself have been experiencing it for some time. I never found out its cause since other people didn't have this problem. Thanks to this thread, I realize it's because my laptop is touch enabled.

Yep this is a bug in LinkedIn - they're ignoring clicks when touch events are supported. See http://www.html5rocks.com/en/mobile/touchandmouse/#toc-mostimp. Long term doing something about this is tracked in issue 392584 . |
