Blimp navigation fails with "No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource."

Launch Blimp, pointing to local engine instance.
Navigate to a few-sites: youtube.com, nytimes.com. They load OK, although very slowly.
Next enter http://seattletimes.com in the address-bar.

Result: The page is not loaded, just keeps spinning. In the stdio of the engine are lines like this:

Interestingly, I didn't see this message when navigating directly to seattletimes.com. Only saw it after first navigating to a few other sites.

I get check failure consistently when navigating to http://seattletimes.com .
