peach_pi: tab contents freeze when moving cursor over bookmark bar |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue description
Chrome Version: 49.0.2623.102
Chrome OS Version: 7834.63.0
Chrome OS Platform: peach_pi
Steps To Reproduce:
(1) Log in to account with many bookmarks
(2) Browse to some usually 60 FPS content:
http://webglsamples.org/aquarium/aquarium.html
https://webkit.org/blog-files/3d-transforms/poster-circle.html
http://videojs.com/
(3) Use touchpad to wiggle cursor over bookmark bar
Expected Result:
Content continues at 60 FPS.
Actual Result:
Content slows to a crawl, or even halts completely.
How frequently does this problem reproduce? (Always, sometimes, hard to
reproduce?)
What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? If so, what is
it?
Content updates extremely slow when moving mouse over bookmarks.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screen shot or
log if possible.
Note: wiggling cursor over the tab contents does *NOT* affect performance.

I just tried again on latest dev channel image for peach_pi: 8108.0.0 51.0.2689.0 The problem is still there... The trace is attached. The "DispatchMouseMoveEvent" are spending all of their time in "AshWindowTreeHostPlatform::DispatchEvent" Also, on R51, I also some 'black flashing' over the bookmark icons (issue 593449). I also tried the same action (wiggling mouse on bookmark bar on a tab w/ webgl aquarium) on R51 samus (8100.0.0 / 51.0.2687.0). The UI did not freeze, but I can see some aquarium FPS glitches. Trace attached.

Actually, this only happens on *my* bookmark bar, b/c I have a bookmark with elided text, and text elision on the bookmark bar is exremely slow (see issue 62682 ). |
