Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/48.0.2564.116 Safari/537.36 Platform: lars Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Execute Network_WiFi_BluetoothScanPerf.11a test case for lars platform (Acer Loreal) or amd64-generic. What is the expected behavior? TC is executed. What went wrong? TC stopped in preparing phase with error: Failed to start XMLRPC server. Is there any precondition for that two test cases? Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: Channel: n/a OS Version: R51-8034.0 Flash Version: During first test execution I got a FAILED with a tip to install sox in chroot. After that, test cases still fail in a preparation phase with reason: Failed to start XMLRPC server. Choromebox used during test: ASUS with image QCA_trybot-panther-test-ap-R49-7677.0.0-b11-chromiumos_test_image.tar.xz Other test cases in test suites wifi_matfunc and wifi_perf works correctly. Please take a look on shared logs from test case execution: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6l_Cm3P9nWQTXRxZ2ZKcDBjY00

sounds like your problem is with the bluetooth end of things. Are you able to run the bluetooth wifi cell tests, such as bluetooth_Sanity_Discovery? Also, this test is still a work in progress - why are you trying to run it?

Yes, I am. All test cases from suites bluetooth_sanity and bluetooth_qualification are passed. This test was added to test suite 'wifi_perf' a few days ago https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/#/c/331738/ and our process require to pass this test suite.

Are you reporting a failure in Network_WiFi_BluetoothScanPerf (as in the title) or Network_WiFi_BluetoothStreamPerf (as in the shared logs mentioned above)? These tests pass when I run them here: $ test_that chromeos1-row3-rack11-host4.cros network_WiFi_BluetoothScanPerf.11b $ test_that chromeos1-row3-rack11-host4.cros network_WiFi_BluetoothStreamPerf.11b I am not familiar with the code that opens the ssh tunnel to create the XMLRPC server for the remote facade factory. Roshan, can you give us an idea what can cause the server to fail to come up?

Thank you Bryan for checking that. I was thinking about Network_WiFi_BluetoothStreamPerf as in the logs, sorry for the strange copy/paste error.

Most often this failure occurs because the xml rpc daemon crashed when it was started. RpcServerTracker starts the xml rpc daemon from the server and then waits for the RPC invocation of the ready method in the server to succeed. If the server is not responding to the |ready| method invocation, it raises a failure after a timeout.

Bryan has left Google and therefore cannot help debug this! Jian, any ideas on someone to help here?
