Gapless repeat not working anymore in Chrome OS music player

Platform 7978.18.0 (Official Build) dev-channel veyron_minnie
Firmware Google_Veyron_Minnie.6588.171.0

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Load a looped song from the file manager
(2) Turn on repeat
(3) Play

What is the expected output?
Gapless looping.

What do you see instead?
There is a brief pause when the song loops. This is a regression.

Are you sure that's a regression? I don't think it's ever worked.

I definitely have used this before and it was gapless. Maybe it was unintentional feature?

this is not html5 video. it happens on music player.

Observed same behavior on 8134.0.0/51.0.2694.1, 7978.36.0/50.0.2661.57 and 7834.66.0/49.0.2623.111. Not observed any regression.
