What steps will reproduce the problem?
(0) Load attached `edit-color.html`
(1) Inspect the div with blue "HI"
(2) In dev tools, note that the color picker is available on `color: var(--blue)`
(3) Open the color picker and select a new color

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Actual: The name of the variable will be changed from `--blue` to `--{new color value}`
Expected: Not that
