Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2679.0 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Install Hangouts extension jfjjdfefebklmdbmenmlehlopoocnoeh 2. Use it for a while 3. Clear cache via "Clear browsing data" What is the expected behavior? Cache to be empty or nearly empty. What went wrong? ~/.config/google-chrome-*/Profile/Storage/ext/jfjjdfefebklmdbmenmlehlopoocnoeh/E062AEDB7E2E/Cache contains 200 MB of data on one machine and profile, and 160 MB on another profile and another machine. "data_3" file in that folder is over 30 MB. It remains even after I tried to delete most: - Browsing history - Download history - Cookies and other site and plugin data - Cached images and files - Hosted app data - Content licenses (only missed out Password and Autofill). Not sure why I'm CCed here... I know nothing about the cache. By "data_3", do you mean "User Data\Default\Cache\data_3", or some other data_3? There are multiple caches, and it's unclear which one we're referring to.

I mean ~/.config/google-chrome-*/Profile/Storage/ext/jfjjdfefebklmdbmenmlehlopoocnoeh/E062AEDB7E2E/Cache/data_3 By itself it's only one file but that folder in total takes a lot of space and none of it is freed by asking Chrome to clear the cache.

Just to add to this, in total ~/.config/google-chrome-*/Profile/Storage/ext/jfjjdfefebklmdbmenmlehlopoocnoeh is 500 MB on one machine, 600 MB on another, with something like 98% of that under /Cache/ directories.
