Show all chromiumos.chromium builders in chromiumos announce section. |
||||
Issue descriptionThe 'chromiumos.chromium' section of the chromiumos waterfall shows 3 builders: x86-generic-tot-chromium-pfq-informational amd64-generic-tot-chromium-pfq-informational daisy-tot-chromium-pfq-informational However the waterfall / console view: https://build.chromium.org/p/chromiumos.chromium/waterfall Also shows the following builders: x86-generic-tot-asan-informational amd64-generic-tot-asan-informational x86-generic-telemetry amd64-generic-telemetry As such, these builders are generally ignored. We should either: * Add them to the waterfall * Remove them * Move them to the i/chromeos.chrome waterfall (even though they are chromiumos builders) if we are concerned about the number of builders on the chromiumos waterfall. The asan builders have been failing recently (due to a timeout which we will investigate) but have mostly been green. The telemetry builders have been failing as far back as their history shows. I'm not actually sure what their purpose is.

This has been the state of things for a long time. The builders shown in the announce section are there for sheriffing utility, and there is no intent for parity between the subset that is displayed and the total builders on any given waterfall. The real question is what role do those other builders play? If CrOS wants to sheriff them, adding them to announce makes sense. If CrOS doesn't care about them, removing them makes sense. I don't think changing their waterfall makes sense, though. The current situation is that they're there, presumably because they're useful in some capacity, but don't need to be sheriffed.

Discussions on issues tracking current failures in those builders suggest that they should remain active and should be sheriffed (or, more accurately, gardened).
Right now the the -telemetry bots ("perf") are stuck in a failure state and require some debugging to get them green again ( issue 595055 ), but they are in that state because the builders are not discoverable so nobody has been paying attention to them.
The asan-informational builders have a real bug that is being addressed: issue 595068 .
