Mac triage: this repros locally on Linux with 65.0.3325.162. I think the logic in content::HandleViewSource() is being applied before the logic to handle settings loads in incognito. Marking for Network triage. Definite Pri-3 though.

Network triager here. ellyjones@: were you repro'ing with instructions provided by the reporter? I am on Linux 65.0.3325.181 and wasn't able to repro. Clicking the bookmarked page brings me to the view-sourece:chrome//chrome/settings/ page. I wonder whether I missed some key steps to repro.

#3: Yep - you have to click the bookmark in your Incognito window, not your regular window, or the correct URL will load.

Apparently this is an intentional behavior -- chrome://settings is not allowed in an incognito window, and will instead open in a non-incognito window: https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/chrome/browser/ui/browser_navigator.cc?l=737 As for stripping of view-source: when changing the navigation parameters, that might not be intentional, but seems like this is not really supported either way. |
