scroll anchoring does not react to composited animations |
||||||||||||
Issue descriptionScroll Anchoring is an intervention whose intent is to mitigate reflows that unnecessarily impact the user experience. We should confirm if it interacts well with transforms and animations.

Good news: we compute the positions of transformed elements correctly (https://output.jsbin.com/tumuru/quiet). Bad news: we fail to adjust during composited animations (https://output.jsbin.com/sineneq/quiet). This is probably because they don't trigger any layouts.

Getting anchoring to work with composited animations will be a non-trivial amount of complexity. As such, I think we probably shouldn't bother (and just leave the bug open for now) until we find some content that would be considerably better with that fixed.
