yawano@ saw this recently. He told me that plugging and unplugging the ethernet cable solved this problem. i'm going to give it a try.

Confirmed that unplugging and plugging the ethernet worked! Here's what happened: 1) once the ethernet was unplugged, "Network not available" dialog with a dinosaur appeared 2) once the ethernet is plugged "Sign in to your Chromebook" dialog appeared

Sounds like the webview is not rendered properly. Do you still have chrome system log when this happened? And how easy to repro it?

Hi all, I have an enterprise domain reporting similar behavior. We are trying to figure out if this is related to Ephemeral mode being forced on users as: 1. Some devices were moved out of an OU where Device Ephemeral mode was forced for state testing. 2. After testing was finished devices were moved back to the OU where the Device Ephemeral mode was enforced. 3. When attempting to use the devices a lot of them started displaying a blank login screen upon boot. As some devices were pending updates we make sure that Update download / reboot after update is not causing this. We then tried the following: 1. Pulled out a device that was not used for a long time and was at v40. 2. Manually updated device to Stable Version 50.X 3. Restarted device - all is working correctly. 4. Moved device to an OU where Device Ephemeral mode was applied. 5. Reloaded policies and rebooted. 6. After reboot the blank login screen appeared. 7. Rebooted again - the login was normal, all users were deleted. As most devices had stopped showing the blank login screen we concluded that it was a temporary error. A few days later the issue reappeared with some more interesting details: - the time was off by 8 minutes on an affected device - after change to the correct time, white screen went away and the login screen presented itself - all device URL's are white listed on the network I am not sure if this is loading time during local data deletion or indeed an issue with the Device Ephemeral policy. Device are using WiFi not Ethernet.
