Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/49.0.2623.87 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://jsfiddle.net/ky97q4wb/ Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Click on the video, press a key, and note that the active element is just the body. 2. Click on the input field, press a key, and note that the active element is the input. 3. Click on the video again and note that the active element is once more the body. What is the expected behavior? Clicking on the video (or at least on the video controls) should give it focus, since it takes input. What went wrong? Clicking on the video resets focus to the default element. Did this work before? No Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? HTML5 Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 49.0.2623.87 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.3 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0 This is related to Issue 135661 and Issue 594517 .

this issue repro back till chrome 41. so it is not a recent regression. I do see on IE, the htmlvideoelement is detected as element when click on video while on Chrome and Safari, HTMLBodyElement is detected when click on video. leave it to Layout team to triage.

This seems to be a bug (even when some control (volume slider etc.)) has focus, document.activeElement seems to return <body>.
