Font size for brower address field/location bar can't be changed to other size

Issue description
Chrome Version : 48.0.2564.116 Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit)

Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
Safari:
Firefox:
IE:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) try to change font size from operating system: Control center-> appearence -> fonts (Using Ubuntu Mate 16.04)
(2) try to change font dpi size from operating system:
Control center-> appearence -> fonts -> deatils -> dpi
(3) try to change font size from browser settings
Chromium Browser > Settings > Advanced Settings > Web content > Font sizes/Customise fonts
What is the expected result?
font size in browser location bar changes
What happens instead?
font size used in browser location bar stays the same
Is it hard-coded ?
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

The Windows and Linux stories are a bit different here, and also different between MD and non-MD. Marking this as specifically about Linux. estade would know better than me what the capabilities and plans are there.

well we do change most other fonts in chrome to match system settings, so ideally location bar would do so as well. I think this is basically bug 550583 --- there's nothing specific to Linux about it since AFAIK we hardcode that font size on all platforms, and removing the hardcoding would fix this without further effort on Linux. |
