No audio when playing mkv-video-file in ChromeOS

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 7956.0.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2657.0 Safari/537.36

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. open video-file in mkv-format on a chromebook
2. video player starts and begins to play the video
3. picture is ok but no audio sound can be heard

What is the expected behavior?
audio should work

What went wrong?
audio does not work

Did this work before? N/A 

Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? N/A 

Chrome version: 50.0.2657.0  Channel: n/a
OS Version: 7956.0.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

the audio codec used in these mkv-files mostly is:

A52/AC3

i see there have been related reports

if i understand correctly, this codec is not supported (yet)?
