Smooth scrolling has incorrect scroll distance with i3wm and gnome? |
||||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version : 49.0.2623.75 (Official Build) (64-bit) What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Open the page with scrollbar (on Linux). 2. Scroll 3. The page scrolls very slow What is the expected result? Scroll rate should be ~3 lines, like configured in Linux and respected by other apps. What happens instead? Scroll rate is ~1 line, too slow. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. Changing value of this flag: chrome://flags/#disable-smooth-scrolling solves the problem - scrolling is fast again. Note: I was annoyed by that change for a few days, then I found a solution and shared it with colleagues - at least one of them had the same impression and happily changed the flag. I am using i3wm, he is using gnome3.

It's surprising, and not intended, that the smooth scrolling flag would change the number of lines scrolled per wheel tick. What page(s) do you observe the problem on?

I observed the problem on all pages and I suspect it depends on the desktop environment. As I wrote I asked my colleagues and the one who observed that behavious was using gnome3 (I am using i3wm). It seems that unity is not affected. All of this happens on Ubuntu 14.04.
