Issue description

Potentially the same as or related to http://crbug.com/571147

Steps to repro:

- build Linux ToT
- visit http://www.deepika.com
- select text anywhere on page, see sample screenshot attached.

leviw@ notes that on Linux we draw as transparent when focus is lost, which is why we can see descent (partially obscured) when focus is lost.

Requesting bisect to see when this issue was introduced. Note there is a reduced test case and more info at http://crbug.com/571147 if helpful. I think they are the same issue so I'll dupe it to this.

Interesting bisect results. To be clear, the description in c#3 says it both can and can not be reproduced on Mac. I believe the first list is incorrect: This issue does *not* repro on Mac.

The bisect you provided would point to DirectWrite causing the issue on Windows, but that doesn't actually tell us when the issue was introduced in the codebase (Linux and Mac don't use DirectWrite). Can you also bisect on Linux?
