Grey boxes (graphics bugs) in the corners of wide pages

Version: 51.0.2666.0/canary (or dev channel)
OS: OSX 10.11.6, low-dpi display

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Visit https://html.spec.whatwg.org/
2. Make your screen wide so that the green ? in the top-right is further right than the "Join us on IRC" blue box (see screenshot).
3. Wait for the page to load, you may notice grey boxes flickering in the corners
4. If you don't see persistent grey boxes, try resizing the window a bit.

Able to reproduce this on the latest canary(51.0.2667.0) and the latest stable(49.0.2623.75) on Windows-7, Mac OS 10.11.3 and Linux Ubuntu 14.04.

This has regressed in M-49.

Last good build: 49.0.2585.0
First bad build: 49.0.2586.0

leviw@: Could you please take a look at this and confirm if the CL could be related to this.

Marking this as RB-Stable as the UI-glitch is seen just by navigating to the URL and has regressed in M-49. Next M49 Stable candidate would be cut tomorrow, Friday @ 5:00 PM PST. If not that, would it be possible to get the fix for this in subsequent stable refresh. 

Feel free to adjust the label if this isn't blocking.

Stable RC cut planned for 5PM PST today. Please update if there is any progress on this. If this is not a release blocker, please change the label appropriately.
