Browser back interferes with alignment of page

Reported by talla...@gmail.com, Mar 4 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:44.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/44.0

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. https://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=flowers
2. click on few (3-4) different results listed on different rows.
3. Use browser back.

What is the expected behavior?
inline viewer which shows the big image should continue to be positioned center of the screen even when browser back is used. Firefox/Safari handle it as expected. This worked fine on Chrome too previously.

What went wrong?
In Chrome you see that page alignment goes awry when you start interacting with browser back.

Did this work before? Yes This was working fine until Nov 2015, I noticed this issue sometime Dec 2015.

Chrome version: <Copy from: 'about:version'> Channel: n/a
OS Version: OS X 10.11
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 20.0 r0

Thanks for your report.

Which Chrome version are you testing with, and which OS X version?

For reference, with Chrome 51.0.2667.0 (current Canary), I observe that the big image stays in the center of the screen. In Safari 9.0.3, it does not - the page does not automatically scroll to center on the big image.

Thanks for the update.

My Chrome version is 48.0.2564.116 and OS X 10.11.3. I verified that issue does occur on this version.

However, I updated Chrome to next available version 49.0.2623.75 and I noticed that this issue has been resolved.
