Issue descriptionFrom feedback report: http://feedback/#/Report/7573379129 The log is full of this log entry: [18719:18719:0303/135744:WARNING:bluetooth_socket_bluez.cc(299)] /org/chromium/bluetooth_profile/704ee561_3782_405a_a14b_2d47a2ddcddf: Failed to connect profile: org.bluez.Error.Failed: Host is down I ordered the model to reproduce, might be an issue with their bluetooth implementation though the amazon reviews do not indicate any issues with other OS. mcchou, do you know what might be the cause and who I could talk to regarding this?

Hi Dennis, could you please let me know the model of bluetooth keyboard you used to reproduce the problem? I did not find it in the feedback report. Thanks.

This is the keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/Caseflex-Wireless-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Android/dp/B00VGBSOGY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457544329&sr=8-1&keywords=caseflex+bluetooth+keyboard I have one here in MTV to reproduce the problem. After digging a little more into the Amazon Reviews I noticed that the Keyboard does seem to have disconnect problems with OSX as well, so it might be a problem on their end.

Hi Dennis, thank you for the keyboard name. The Caseflex keyboard is not available in Taiwan. I have a few questions. Q1. Do you reproduce the problem on Big or other platform? Q2. What is the procedure you performed to reproduce the problem? I tried another bluetooth keyboard connect to squawks. After "shutting down" squawks and rebooting it, squawks did not re-connect to the bluetooth keyboard automatically. I have to close and re-open the bluetooth keyboard so that the keyboard could re-connect to squawks again. I will order the keyboard from Amazon. I will do the following experiments when I get the keyboard. If you are interested, you might want to do it too :-) Q3. Could you easily reproduce the problem on OSX? If yes, that might be a problem of the keyboard. Q4. Could you reproduce the problem on another chrome os platform with distinct bluetooth controller. You could use "lsusb" to look up the controller vendor. Sometimes, even though the problem lies in the peripherals, we manage to work around problems on our side, by modifying bluetooth controller firmware or by working around bluez stack if possible. Thanks!

I Joseph! 1. I have reproduced the issue on minnie. I also just tried this on Samus, where it does NOT reproduce. 2. The quickest way to reproduce for me was: - Pair keyboard. Make sure it works - Turn off keyboard (it has a power switch) - Wait a few seconds. Turn back on - Keyboard does not work. - Check bluetooth settings. Keyboard is greyed out. Can't connect to it again. - To re-connect, I have to remove the keyboard from the device list. And pair again. 3. Doing the above on OSX does not show the problem. The keyboard automatically reconnects. 4. I think minnie is using a Realtek bluetooth controller (next to USB hubs, this and IMC Networks are the only devices listed). Samus is using an Intel controller I think. Thanks a lot for looking into this Joseph!

Hi dennis, thank you for the information. As your comment#7, this looks like a re-connection problem which narrows down the issue. Thank you! I will investigate it when receiving the keyboard that I ordered from Amazon.

Hey! I filed the feedback report back then. I think I can provide you with some more feedback: I got a new keyboard (the Logitech K480 - a multi-device keyboard). It also has the problem with failing to reconnect to the CB after a keyboard shutdown. Until recently I had no problem while switching devices via the switch. Now I have the problem also after switching from one device (android phone) to the Chromebook. It's way more annoying than before because I now switch devices every 5 minutes.
