High Memory usage and causes overheating

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_3) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/48.0.2564.103 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open more than15 tabs and keep laptop from shutdown for days

What is the expected behavior?
Shouldn't overheat and shouldnt hog RAM.

What went wrong?
The Chromium process and the Chromium helper process takes up all the memory of the system leaving behind few MBs. 

Please find the attached screenshot and activity manager log.

This doesn't take multiple tabs or days, I've seen this on a single youtube tab as well. OSX (Yosemite) and  49.0.2623.112 (64-bit)
