Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/48.0.2564.116 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Click Ctrl + F 2. Enter Regular expression (\d) 3. Nothing found What is the expected behavior? To find all numbers on the page What went wrong? No items found Did this work before? No Chrome version: 48.0.2564.116 Channel: n/a OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 20.0 r0 There was same issue raised 6 years ago but developer who got assigned this issue being lazy suggested to use non working extension and closed the issue. Had he tried the extensions currently offered he would have realized that they are not very usable and introduce issues or simply do not work. https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43164 Thanks.

I support having a feature like this. Even if we don't get full regex support, perhaps we could implement some very small subset of regex-like features, like matching any integer in the reporter's example. Also, not a Windows-specific feature.

Also, there are a lot of duplicates of this request. Any ideas on how to merge? Should we even try to merge? Some of these have been merged into Issue 225324 previously.

Archiving old bugs that haven't been modified in over two years. If you feel this issue should still be addressed, feel free to reopen it or to file a new issue. Thanks! |
