I have all the notes necessary to hook into launchpad, I just need to implement it.  Someday.

Strings that are specific to Google Chrome are in google_chrome_strings.grd and alternate translations for Chromium are in chromium_strings.grd.  Google doesn't provide translations for strings in chromium_strings.grd, so for Chromium builds, these strings are untranslated.

It would be nice if we could accept translations for these strings from the community.

I think evanm said it would be easy to write a python script to upload from chromium_strings.grd to launchpad and to download the resulting translations back into chromium.

Fabien Tassin actually made the work required to get Chromium translations to Launchpad and back to upstream. However, Fabien (fta) left for reasons unknown and since then Chromium's LP translations haven't been maintained.
