When Chromium is launched with --kiosk the menu bar and dock are still available even though they should not be

Reported by cote...@gmail.com, Sep 14 2015

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0

Steps to reproduce the problem:
run /Applications/Chromium.app/Contents/MacOS/Chromium --kiosk

What is the expected behavior?
When Chromium is launched in kiosk mode, it should not allow the user to easily get out of the application. Namely, it should not be possible to access the menu bar, the dock, CMD-TAB, Exposé, etc.

Mac OS exposes a Kiosk API to do just that: https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/technotes/KioskMode/Introduction/Introduction.html

What went wrong?
As it is currently, moving the mouse to the top of the screen reveals the menu bar and moving it to the bottom reveals the dock. Also, various keys that can let the user switch away from the app are available but should not be: CMD-Tab, power key, CMD-alt-esc, etc.

As I understand it, kiosk mode currently behaves just like fullscreen mode.

Did this work before? No

Chrome version: Version 47.0.2509.0 (64-bit) Channel: n/a
OS Version: OS X 10.10.5

I'll try looking at this.

I did some investigation. The --kiosk feature on desktop platforms is not very well-supported and I don't think I will soon have time to fix this. I am happy to review patches, though.

Did you check the link I sent ? The kiosk mode of Mac OS seems well documented and supported. Then again, I never used it and I'm not a Mac programmer. I'm just surprised, given what seems to be proper documentation of a kiosk mode, that you would say it is not well-supported.
@5: Comment 4 is referring to Chrome's kiosk mode, while you're referring to OS X's kiosk mode.

Marking available. I'm not going to work on this any time soon. Marking P3 since desktop --kiosk is basically not supported.

Kicking this back to available, reasons in #7 still apply.
