You can get some debug output about plugin loading with: --debug-plugin-loading --log-level=0 --enable-logging=stderr Paste or attach the output here please.

[8826:8835:14602584620:INFO:webkit/glue/plugins/plugin_list_posix.cc(142)] Resolved /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/flashplugin-alternative.so -> /usr/lib/gnash/libgnashplugin.so This is saying that on your system, installing gnash makes it so browsers can no longer find flash. That is, on your system installing gnash basically uninstalled flash from the browser's perspective. I suggest asking Ubuntu about how to change this...

Evan: so reopen this bug and I can add directories with plugins: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=29442 So I can workaround this problem. Opera has this option and I can see the Gnash and Adobe on plugin page. I can enable or disable any of them.

Hi Evan, Now I see Gnash and Adobe Flash plugin on Firefox 3.6 (maybe some update on Ubuntu 10.04 lucid) But on Chrome I only see Gnash. I opened Chrome with the command again. See attach file to see terminal log. The other file is a screenshot of plugins on Firefox 3.6 Wait an answer, thanks.

In that case, we're skipping Adobe flash because it is nspluginwrapper, and we think we already have a non-nspluginwrapper flash available. Having gnash call itself "Shockwave Flash" is confusing the plugin loader. [7463:7472:11263379214:INFO:webkit/glue/plugins/plugin_list_posix.cc(202)] Skipping /var/lib/flashplugin-installer/npwrapper.libflashplayer.so, preferring /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libgnashplugin.so

Evan, No way to have the two plugins like Firefox 3.6? On past I agree with you because Firefox didn't show the two plugins, but now they accept. So I think this bug could be reopened.

You can now go to chrome://plugins/ then click ¨details¨, most likely you will find two ¨Shockwave flash¨ objects, you can disable the Gnash one.

NPAPI, and thus Gnash, is not supported anymore. |
